INLAND WATERWAYS USERS BOARD NOMINATIONS REQUESTED
The Department of the Army has published a notice to request nominations for representatives to serve on the Inland Waterways Users Board (IWUB), sponsored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Secretary of the Army will recommend 11 representative organizations to the Secretary of Defense for approval. This notice solicits nominations for seven appointments or more for terms that will begin by January 31, 2024.
Deadline for submissions: June 15, 2023.
The IWUB is an advisory board established to monitor the Inland Waterways Trust Fund (IWTF) and to make recommendations to the Army and to Congress on investment priorities using resources from the IWTF. The IWUB is a critical activity for the Corps. The Director of Civil Works (CW) serves as the IWUB Executive Director and the Assistant Secretary of the Army (CW) serves as an Inter-Agency Observer, along with representatives of the Maritime Administration, NOAA and the Department of Agriculture.
