NAVIGATION BULLETIN NO. 19-143

GULF INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY: CALCASIEU LOCK

Beginning on 21 October 2019 and continuing through 23 November 2019, mariners are advised that Calcasieu Lock will have
intermittent delays to navigation between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily, due to work being performed by a U.S. Government Hired
Labor Unit.

The work will require the Lock to operate one set of gates while another set will be fitted with new drive motors. During this
time, mariners are advised that the Lock will be operated similar to a salt water control structure, and vessels will have to
navigate the lock with various water flows once the gates are
opened.

Calcasieu Lock Lockmaster, Charles Hebert, can be reached at (337)477-1482. The points of contact with the New Orleans
District are Victor Landry at (504) 862-2407 and Robert Morgan
at (504) 862-2320.
